The Christian Broadcasting Associates –
The 700 Club In Canada -
Announces the Appointment
of New President


After a national search, The Christian Broadcasting Associates, “The 700 Club in Canada” has appointed the Rev. George Woodward as President of its outreach ministries effective September 1, 2008. He replaces the Rev. Alex Parachin who served in this same capacity for almost two decades.
 
 
     Over the past 20 years, George has had a background of senior leadership in pastoring local churches, administering a multi-faceted international ministry, serving as a Bible College Dean and, most recently, directing Public Relations for a national Canadian television ministry. Prior to his ministry career, Rev. Woodward served as a senior executive for a major manufacturing business in Ontario.
     Both George and his wife Marilyn were born and raised in Southern Ontario. They have been married for 35 years, have two grown sons and three grandchildren. George has a heart to see Canada take its place in the worldwide movement of the Holy Spirit during these last days. George believes that God has a plan not only for revival in Canada, but also to use the nation’s multi-cultural Christian communities to impact the world. He believes that Christian Broadcasting Associates has a significant place in God’s heart to see the Truth of the Gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit touch the nation at this critical time in history.
     In accepting this appointment, George said "Thank God for CBA and its many ministry victories He has allowed but I look to the future with great excitement and enthusiasm, anticipating what spectacular things that He will be doing in the season ahead".
     Dr. David Gyertson, host of “Canadian Edition”, Canada’s weekly version of “The 700 Club”, said “George brings a unique combination of professional skill sets, substantial senior leadership experience, a deep commitment to Christ and a world-reaching vision for Canada’s distinctive multi-cultural Christian mix that will expand CBA’s mission to reach to and thru our nation with the life-transforming Gospel of Jesus Christ”.
     The Christian Broadcasting Associates was founded in 1974 by The Christian Broadcasting Network to help utilize Christian media and humanitarian outreach to reach Canada with the message of Jesus’ redeeming love. Through its national Prayer Ministry Centre in Scarborough Ontario, thousands of people are touched each month by God’s amazing grace. The weekly broadcasts of “Canadian Edition” and the daily outreach of “The 700 Club” present the joy, truth and hope of our Lord’s saving and empowering work.
